Need help deciding on home replacement windows.?
I live in Dallas Texas and am in the process of buying replacement windows for my home. Here is what I am deciding between and would love to get some insight form an epert or from others that have recently purchased windows.: 1. Fiberglass vs. Vinyl - Have been quoted Vinyl from Pella. Looks nice but more expensive. Are they worth the extra price (3k? Is it a better to have in hot temperatures? My house shifts so is on more flexable than Vinyl? Is Pella a good brand for Fiberglass? 2. If I was to look at Vinyl I have quotes from Home Depot (Simonton) & Lowes (Dakota and Pella). The Lowes rep. says that Dakota (out of Arkansas) makes a better vinyl product. Anyone know much about Dakota and how it compares to the others. Out of three which is the best? Simonton is about $2,500 more than Dakota. Is it worth the price? Any experience with buying from Home Depot or Lowes. Thanks!
