Replacement Window Screens
Window screens are basically the nets that are used to keep the flies and
mosquitoes out of the house. They are installed on windows so that these pests
do not trouble us. But our kids and pets are far from understanding the nuisance
of flies. They may sometimes play with a pointed object and end up tearing the
window screen. This is indeed an undesirable thing to happen. But you can
always
use replacement window screens that come in handy in such cases.
There are two ways of installing these replacement window screens. The first
one is obviously hiring a technician’s services for replacing the screens. If
you are affected by inflation like me, you can make use of the following
guidelines to install the screen yourself. It can be fun, time-saving and most
importantly, economical!
Just follow these instructions and you will be done:
1. Firstly, you will need to buy an aluminum or vinyl screen, piping
and other required tools you don’t possess. These may include a double wheeled
screen roller, a flat screwdriver, a multi purpose knife, an old paintbrush, a
scale and a table that will serve as the work area.
2. The screen is fitted in a trench. Take out the complete piping from
this trench with the help of a screwdriver.
3. Remove all the dirt from the trench with a paint brush.
4. Place the piece of screen o
n top of the space that needs
replacement window screens.
5. Employ a roller to fix in the screen within the trench without
hurting the screen. This can be done in four to five attempts so as to fit the
screen comfortably.
6. Next thing to do is place the piping lightly in to the trench.
7. With the help of your screen roller, slightly push the piping to
fit in the trench.
8. Examine if the screen is installed as desired. If it is set
correctly, just cut the extra sides of the screen from the borders.
9. The screen is ready to install wherever needed.
It is not very difficult to install replacement window screens as we think.
You need to take some care while measuring the screen and removing the old one.
It is always better to check out the hardware store in your locality for the
available sizes of screens. This will help you to plan the layout of the screen.
